I did manage to find his triptych on the same subject that was auctioned in 2008 by Christies: http://www.christies.com/lotfinder/paintings/william-etty-ra-judith-and-holofernes-triptych-5107158-details.aspxJudith Weingartenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06683483030413488309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38472234.post-20746805538279040322016-01-13T00:44:51.136+01:002016-01-13T00:44:51.136+01:00We have waited long to hear Judith on 'Judith ...We have waited long to hear Judith on 'Judith and Holofernes'. I am not sure I would invite her into my home. I hope you have seen the painting in the National Gallery of Scotland by William Etty. Upcoming is the Feast of the Three Kings held on January 6. Now I can add the Feast of Judith to my roll call of celebrations during the dark cold months of winter here in Wisconsin. Reading Judith's herstory reminded me of Jael from the Song of Deborah in Judges Chs. 4 and 5, Book of Judges. Today, January 1, the sun is coming out after days of gloom, hooray! It's 5 o'clock somewhere, so I'm having a glass of wine. Have a happy, healthy and prosperous 2016.Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16575870809633911343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38472234.post-28568810038497635772015-12-19T17:47:21.309+01:002015-12-19T17:47:21.309+01:00Seeing as tonight is our annual festive drinks par...Seeing as tonight is our annual festive drinks party, we will no doubt raise a glass to you and all your other readers here in Dublin.
